Untraceable Cell Phones

Prepaid cell phones are traceable but the owner less so.
If authorities or the network service provider has the cell phone number or/and the IMEI identification number, they can easily trace the location of the phone.
but little to no data on the owner via direct query since the service provider doesn’t require too much information for registration of the phone.

Prepaid cell phones are harder to track than postpaid phones.
Mostly people want to avoid that someone (not particulary the authorities) can find out about them.
In such context prepaid phone location are not hard to find, but it’s harder to find out who owned it.

However , if the prepaid phone is mostly found on one specific location, it is not that hard to deduct that the resident there owns the phone.

reasonable privcy using a seperate SIM

main purpose is to defeat big tech 2FA privacy invasion using phones,
for this 2 things are required :
- no link between phone number / SIM with any contact list
- not a known number / IMEI is not linked to you

You principle phone number is “burned” and should never be used for 2FA.
Use if possible other forms of 2FA (OTLP etc) or use a second SIM card if that is not posibble.
With a second SIM you can also set up a Google voice account , which can be used for online 2FA, after SIM is expired

This way, you can use (some) internet services without big tech building up their profile of you.

  1. er mag geen link zijn tussen EMEI noch SIM enerzijds en de eigenaar anderzijds
  2. aan de hand van het gebruik , mag geen link gelegd kunnen worden tussen beller en :
    • locatie(s)
    • opgebelde mensen

  3. phone met een credit card aangekocht , of online gekocht & naar een adres laten zenden :
    er IS een link, ( evenwel is het iets moeilijker geworden om eigenaar te achterhalen )
    => koop in een winkel , gebruik cash & let op de security camera’s
    koop tweedehands van
  4. phone nooit THUIS of in de buurt ervan aanzetten, laat staan gebruiken
  5. na gebruik in een faraday bag
  6. geen voorspelbaar patroon van bellen maken
    aan de hand van de de opgebelde nummers kan perfect bepaald worden wie de beller zou kunnen zijn
    onderzoek van de gebelde nummers kan ook informatie opleveren die leid naar de beller
  7. beter nog : gebruik geen smartphone , maar een ouderwetse gsm
    zie : prima old school modelen

Een dergelijke discipline is nauwelijks haalbaar.
Complete privacy heeft enkel zin in het scenario van een klokkenluider (Snowden types).
