display VS Code output window to side rather than below the code pane
right-click on tab bar in the output/debugging/problems/terminal pane en choose “move right” ( “move left” zal een pane links van de code pane maken, is niet mijn ding
disable the minimap

File menu > Preferences > Settings > search settings : “editor.minimap.enabled”
==> Uncheck : Controls whether the minimap is shown.
