lightning > preferences > advanced > config editor > accept the riks > locate calendar.date.format > chnge value from “0” (=default) to “2”
( TB uses linux lc_time setting , I believe )

dates are displayed as :
“0” >> “Fri June 17 HH:MM”
“2” >> “17-06-18 HH:MM”

Add a holiday calendar

A holiday calendar lists all the public holidays of a country
methods to add a holiday calendar :
- Subscribe to it on the internet
- => Store it on your computer <=
The calendar file is stored on your computer , available if offline. You will also be able to modify it (f.i ,adding local holidays)

Change the default calendar

( for creating new events in lighting
This procedure is valid for external calendars , not for home (the build-in calendar”)

When using several calendars opened in Lightning, it’s a bit of a pain to double check everytime that the correct one is selected
- ≣ > Tools > Options > Advanced tab => click Config Editor button.
- In “Filter” enter ==calendar.registry==
- Locate .calendar-main-default key : it will be set to true
- Other calendars either won’t have a .calendar-main-default key ,or it will be set to false

other registry keys to check : .disabled

Right click on the value of the .calendar-main-default key that goes with the calendar that currently shows up by default in new events to toggle the value to false
Click on the .calendar-main-in-composite key that goes with the calendar you want as default
Right click on the same key and choose Copy Name from the menu that appears.
right click on the key again and select New > Boolean
Paste the name of the key and Use the backspace key to erase “in-composite” and type “default”
Click OK and Choose true and click OK
Now exit out of Thunderbird and restart
