Change or Disable the 5 Minute Idle Time in Teams
I am on our Help Desk call queue in Teams. Sometimes I am preparing a machine for deployment while sitting at my desk, but not moving the mouse at my computer. I’m available to take a call if one comes in, but Teams goes Idle and calls are therefore not routed to me.
I’m familiar with the Duration option and the Set a Status Message option to force availability for a period of time,
but this has two problems:
1) it is this extra work every time I’m doing something else at my desk; and even more importantly,
2) if a call does come in, it does not override that status. So then another call could come in, which I’m unable to answer; meanwhile, there are other support staff that are available, to whom that call should be routed.
How do we disable or change the idle timeout time? Five minutes of inactivity is far too short!
