methods of phone tracking
A google-android phone can be tracked via :
1. network scanning : wifi , routers , BT, routers etc
- is done by google , they know your position more accuratly then the phone carriers
(update , this will change with 5G)
- is permissionless, therefore : build into the chip ?
2. wifi triangulations
- triangulation is probarly build into the chip => you’ll need a special designed non-spy mobile to counter this
- data is sold by Google to third parties !
3. google telemetry
a. build into GAPSS / Google Code
b. all apps provided via the Google Play app store are GAPSS complient , and thus support telemetry
4. firmware spying : this will be done state / gov agencies rather then google
5. state agencies can force google into complience, but have also other means such as surveillance
LineageOS , IF no google apps installed , is ok for 1 & 3 , perhaps also for 2. But not for 4 & 5
tracking via SIM
ICCID
- Integrated Circuit Card Identification Number.
- a unique 18-22 digit code that includes a SIM card’s country, home network, and identification number.
- usually printed on the back of a SIM card
IMSI
- International mobile subscriber identity
- a unique 64 bit digit code
- in actual communications mostly, but not always, TMSI will be used/transferred
TMSI
- is derived from the IMSI + ? KI ?
- a bit more secure
tracking phones without a SIM card
if SIM card is not inserted in a mobile phone, you can’t track ICCID or IMSI
however , the IMEI (phone hardware) number still can be tracked without SIM
{wm : tracked using the cell network ? #TODO , it definitely can be recorded if you make an emergency call , which remains always possible , even with no SIM }
and the IMEI can, and will have been, corellated to other data before removal of the SIM
you can view and note down your IMEI number from your phone without a SIM card.
google / apple ID & accounts

Phone-tracking App ‘s
location tracking
==every app that gets permission to track your location can collect a location database and sell that data==
it does happen quite frequently, and it it is not inoceent
bijvb.
Tessla : a investment firm bought location data and had a special data team involved in other tricks
( “nearby” detection shows some unknown numbers regularly nearby known Tessla numbers at a Tessla location => these are Teslla employees )
they constructed a database with Tessla employees , their phone numbers and their locations
from the patterns on this database they could predict in/ disinvestments before actual anoucments and beat the market
